OpenOffice 3 has been formally released, with one of its greatest enhancements being back up for file formats in Microsoft Office 2007. The unveiling of the open source productivity suite comes a three-year development cycle. Nevertheless, some commentators queried whether the upgrade was enough to be charged as a full upgrade. The upgrade appealed enough attention to overtake the OpenOffice.org Web site.
The software suite aggregates word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools akin to the Microsoft Office suite. The open source version, however, is free, making it an appealing choice for people or businesses that need only basic capabilities. The biggest advance to OpenOffice 3 is the ability to open Office 2007 files. However, some files, such as .docx, .xisx, and .pptx, can only be read. The second major sweetening is a new version for the Apple Mac. The upgrade installs and runs like a normal OS X application.

Well, . The next translation of Windows will be called Windows 7.
Although Windows 7 isn’t an stimulating name, it does keep off the trouble of being linked with a particular release year. It also avoids the difficulty of picking a name that can attract to consumers, small businesses, and corporations. Possibly the flat name indicates that Microsoft assigns to focus on features, functionality, and performance, which would be a groovy matter.
As challenging as it’s become to gain clients to move to new Windows versions, there is a good chance that Windows 7 will be the last customary monumental release of the operating system.
